PASTOR JOHNNIE ROBINSON JR

Pastor Robinson was raised in a small town about twenty-five miles of Pensacola called Molino, Florida. He attended Union Missionary Baptist Church and the Mt Pleasant A.M.E. Church.

He moved to Detroit, Michigan at age eleven with his family.

Life’s experience has afforded Pastor Robinson the opportunity to acquire a variety of skills and meet cross the path of great people. His has been employed by Ford Motor Company, Detroit Steel, Several Oil Companies, and the United State Army where he retired as First Sergeant.

Johnnie accepted his calling into the ministry at the age of 20. He preached and pastored his entire military career. He started following the call of God in an Army dayroom under Pastor Wayne D. Baker, and with New Harvest Outreach under the late James Tolbert. In 1978 God moved the heart of Johnnie to join in with Pastor Baker and the Pleasant Grove A.M.E. Church. He entered into the conference of the A.M.E. Church October 1979. While with the A. M. E. he served as pastor or associate at Wayman Chapel A. M. E., Union Springs AL., Bethel A. M. E, Pittsview, AL., and Peace and Goodwill A. M. E Crawford, AL. Faithfully standing with his mentor and Pastor Wayne D. Baker Johnnie, Pastor Robinson Co-founded the Spirit Filled Methodist Church. Ten years of his pastoral work was in Aschaffenburg Germany. While in Germany he became the president of the largest gathering of African-American churches in Europe, “European Explosion”. He served as president of the Ministerial association of Greater Europe, which included Germany, Belgium, England, Spain, Berlin (before the fall of the wall), Turkey, and Greece. This group met on the third week of June each year to celebrate the love of God.

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: For truly the harvest is plenteous, but the laborers are few. The Holy Spirit impressed these words upon the heart and spirit of Rev. Johnnie Clifton Robinson, Jr. Thus Higher Power Outreach grew out of a vision from God. As early as summer of 1994, Rev. Robinson realized that God was requiring him to begin this mission in the Phenix City, Alabama, Columbus, Georgia area.

In March 1995 Rev. Robinson took steps to begin the outreach ministry. Being led by the Spirit of God, he felt the need for a discipleship ministry with every potential member being trained and equipped to win souls for Christ. This vision was shared with a small group of faithful saints.

After much prayer and communion with God, the group had their first church service at the Robinson’s home. A closer walk with Jesus, a spiritual renewal, and outreach to the lost, bruised, battered, broken, forgotten, depressed, distressed, homeless and all needy souls was imperative. Through Rev. Robinson’s leadership, a Church filled with the Holy Spirit and led by God was the burning desire of this group. The Church was to be an independent, non denominational church. Realizing that the Church must completely rely on the Holy Spirit to accomplish this great task, the name Higher Power Outreach was given.
